A Door in the Woods by James Dashner July 18, 2006

I had a hard time getting into this book at first and it has some pretty scary things going on. However, I like Jimmy Fincher, a 14-year-old, and I want to see how this series ends up. Jimmy stumbles onto somethng weird in the woods and is catapaulted into a series of events that change his life forever. Ultimately, he has to find four gifts so he can save the world from the Stompers. In this book, he gets the first gift, the ability to be indestructible. Pretty awesome. Not as good as Harry Potter, but not too bad either. It's a short book, easy to read. Rating: 3.5

I think Katie owns a couple in the series if your want to borrow them.

This is a very unusual series, but you'll find that it breaks all the stereotypes. You think you know what's going on, and then you don't. And the ending of the last book --holy cow! Blew my socks off!
