Girl in Hyacinth Blue by Susan Vreeland May 26, 2006
This is a beautifully written book that follows a painting and its owners in reverse chronology. Since I really like to get to know the characters, I was disappointed at first as each chapter has a new cast. But it amazed me how well Vreeland was able to draw me into them in each chapter. Of course, the main character is the painting itself. I hope to read more of her work.

I found this book to be very interesting as well. I'd never seen a book structured quite like it before. The story changes every time the painting changes hands. It was particularly gratifying to learn about the girl in the painting. It's a fascinating read.
